Automation Accounts

The Accounts tab in Operations > Automation manages imported Azure Automation Accounts and their runbooks. It is the operator surface for runbook inventory, runbook actions, and account health handling.

Account-Level Capabilities

• Search imported accounts and inspect runbook counts.

• Import new Automation Accounts.

• Expand/collapse account rows to view runbooks and account state details.

• Refresh account metadata, runbooks, and runbook parameters.

• Remove an imported Automation Account from AZExecute.

Account Health and Recovery

The table surfaces account state markers such as missing or disabled resources. For unhealthy accounts, the UI exposes guided recovery actions like Fix Account.

Runbook actions are constrained when the underlying Automation Account is not in a healthy/active state.

Runbook-Level Capabilities

Inside an expanded account, each runbook row provides operational actions:

• Execute runbook.

• Edit runbook execution settings/input behavior in AZExecute.

• Publish runbook-based operations for user-facing execution scenarios.

• Schedule runbook execution.

You can also add new runbooks to a managed account from the account action menu.

Known Parameter Helper

A built-in helper dialog is available from the account actions to review supported known parameter patterns. Use this when designing runbook inputs that should map to standardized, operator-friendly selections.

Operational Notes

• Import and refresh are safe first steps when runbooks or parameter metadata appear outdated.

• Review account health before troubleshooting runbook-level execution behavior.

• Use Custom Parameters for reusable prompts and Task docs for multi-step orchestration.
